Apperently it's only supposed to mimic everything for fun. There's a non destructive version of memz, which is what I thought I downloaded. I did this, accept I wasn't using a virtual console. Did you forget to tell us about early-onset Alzheimers? No one on the planet earth who has heard of a VM is this dumb. TLDR, you opened a VM in fullscreen, left the VM without realizing it and then did a bunch of stuff that should have warned the shit out of you, then somehow knew to reenter the VM despite thinking you were already in the VM so you could check it, but not for the important things, then unwittingly left the VM and started the trojan. Then, since you were in the VM to check it you would have to then leave the VM to start the trojan.
I cannot see how you install the MEMZ trojan on your PC, then check the VM while thinking that you were already in the VM? This act cannot be accomplished without knowing what environment you are in, and being in the wrong one would cause "wtf. You downloaded the MEMZ trojan THEN checked the VM. How did none of the installs conflict with whatever anti-virus you already had on your PC? The browser is your set-up, the install directories etc. How did you not realize you were not on a VM while installing multiple anti-viruses? There would be literally dozens of obvious clues.
Ok, presumably you downloaded multiple anti-viruses onto your PC since you got the warnings from them. TL DR downloaded MEMZ on computer because I thought I was on a virtual machine. When I turned the computer back on, it was still on the new windows setup screen.Īnd that's when I realized it: I downloaded MEMZ on the computer, not the virtual machine. The alt-f4 didn't work, so I decided to turn off my computer and turn it back on. After MEMZ shut down the computer and deleted everything, I alt-f4'ed, since I'm done and satisfied with my results. The trojan did its thing, and none of the antiviruses managed to stop it after the initial warnings.
I downloaded the MEMZ trojan, made sure that the virtual box worked, and then started the trojan up.Īll of the antiviruses red-flagged the trojan upon running, which was a good sign, but it was a pain in the bank to cancel the quarantine for every single antivirus.
So, I downloaded a virtual machine on my computer, full-screened it, and then downloaded every single legit free antivirus I could put my hands on. Recently, I wanted to see what happens when antiviruses are activated right after the activation of the virus.
